About Santiago Garcia Galvan

Santiago is a renowned producer, entrepreneur, and investor in the entertainment industry with more than two decades of international experience. He studied Filmmaking and Visual Arts at the University of Arts and Entertainment of Madrid (TAI) and later earned a Master’s degree in Business for the Entertainment Industries. Throughout his career, he has been guided by a clear vision: content creation and curation are both the present and the future of media, a conviction that has defined his professional path.

With over 80 titles produced or co-produced, Santiago has been behind landmark films such as Under the Same Moon and Desierto, as well as large-scale international productions like Fast & Furious 8 and Transformers 5. In 2010, he co-founded Itaca Films with Alex García, establishing it as one of the leading production companies in Latin America, with offices in Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, and the United States. Through Itaca and AG Studios, he expanded into multiple business lines and digital platforms, amplifying the global reach of Latin American cinema.

He has worked with acclaimed filmmakers such as Alfonso Pineda Ulloa, Carlos Cuarón, Guillermo Arriaga, and Demián Bichir, and collaborated with international studios including Paramount Pictures, Sony, and Village Roadshow. In television, Santiago has produced for HBO, Canal 11, and Netflix, including Dios Inc. and Chef’s Table. In 2018, he received an Honorary Doctorate from the American Cultural Institute in recognition of his cultural contributions to Latin America.

His vision extends beyond film. Santiago has invested in music, gastronomy, hospitality, art, and cultural events. In Spain, he founded La Z Music, producing albums and music videos for world-renowned Latin artists such as Jennifer Lopez, Enrique Iglesias, Daddy Yankee, and Natalia Lafourcade. He has also supported emerging artists, opened restaurants, and curated cultural projects like Arte Careyes. During the 2020 pandemic, he successfully completed over 10 productions, pioneering new safety protocols to protect crews while maintaining industry activity.

Recognized twice by Forbes (2017 and 2022) as one of the 50 most creative Mexicans, Santiago continues to develop his concept of production thinking, a strategic methodology he applies across his projects. With a career spanning film, television, music, and culture, he has been instrumental in elevating Latin American creativity onto the global stage.
